John Simmons
John Simmons is a dynamic people mover with seventeen years experience behind the turntables. Inspired by the early 90s House music produced by mostly Chicago and New York artists that was spun by djs on the radio, he began to cut his chops in Chicago's underground/rave scene. Among many others, John credits the djs of Chicago's Soul Foundation house music collective as an important and ongoing source of musical inspiration. John has played at hundreds of events in Chicago, throughout the United States, and internationally. He has been able to further connect with and influence people through his work at local record shops Hot Jams, Supreme, and Wax Addict. John was able to gain some important international touring experience in the early 2000s while touring with members of Soul Foundation and while working as road manager for electronic music superstar Green Velvet. John has had many weekly residencies at nightclubs & lounges in Chicago, some of which lasted for several years. With production partner Future Forward, John co-produced and performed vocals on the "Welcome 2 Chicago" EP, a new-school Acid House jacker that sounds fresh while harkening back to the glory days of Chicago House. John currently resides in Chicago at Salud Tequila Lounge on Fridays, and at Crocodile Lounge on 3rd Thursdays. He also holds down the honored position as one of the resident djs at Smartbar, one of Chicago's legendary dance music institutions.

Brian Gardner

Brian Gardner may have discovered his passion for DJing by accident, but his success is far from accidental. As a veteran of the Chicago House music scene for more than 15 years, Gardner has emerged as a versatile DJ and producer who manipulates everything from Deep Soulful House, Jazzy Jackin beats to the harder sounds of Industrial and Minimal Techno. Over the last ten years Brian has also brought in an array of top-tier House talent while promoting the underground vibrancy that makes the city's house scene glow at venue's such as Boom Boom Room at Green Dolphin, Ohm, Smart Bar, Moonshine & Darkroom just to name a few. Make sure and check out djbriangardner.com for more info & upcoming events.

"Acid, deep, jackin', old school-I'm not limiting myself to any one genre of House," Gardner says. More recently, his style has taken him the route of "deep boompty house," which are slower beats characterized by big vocals. "I'm not interested in putting people to sleep," he says of his performance style. "Good music is just good music." Check out his latest release on realdeeprecordings.com
